Disambiguation?

I enter 'dream world' into the search tool, expecting something psychology-related about delusionary realities, or at least a list of all books, movies and video games involving imaginary worlds, but I end up here at an article about some cheesy theme park. Why? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.69.25.24 (talkcontribs) Mar 12, 2006 14:41:21

 • When you find a suitable target, add to the top of this page (starthere) :This article is about the Australian amusement park. For the *insert your description*, see *insert target page* (endhere). However, this is here because it is Australia's largest amusement park. -- Saberwyn 06:24, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

I'm going to improve this article

After visiting Dreamworld in September, I now have alot more knowledge of this park and I will slowly but surely expand this article to rival more superior theme park articles. I also plan for separate articles for the more popular rides. I also have taken many photos whilst I was there and will be uploading quite a few more. If anyone wants to help me with this, that would be fantastic. Lakeyboy 09:07, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Fair use images

UNder fair use policy wikipedia requires image to have a suitable free license. That fair use can opnly be applied where it's not reasonibly possible to obtain suitably licensed images. In this the article already have suitable images and their replacement with copyright/fair use images is inappropriate. If Dreamworld wishes certain image to displayed then those images must be available with suitable free use licenses like GFDL. Gnangarra 07:12, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Would their publicity photos be considered neutral? They are artifically coloured and poor representations of the reality of the condition and nature of the park's attrations. To me it's no more acceptable than textual misrepresentations of the park. Riph 09:54, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Questions about article

This article looks good. For the WikiProject Amusement Parks I have assessed it as "High" because it says it is the largest theme park in Australia. I have a couple of questions. Why does the disam sentence say this is about a theme park named "Gayworld"? Vandalism? Should this be fixed? Also, some of the rides and pics mention Ocean Parade, but that is not mentioned in the article. Is it a theme area? It might be good to have the theme areas listed and discussed more fully in the body of the article instead of just in the lead para. --Tinned Elk 18:10, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

The Cyclone!

Who deleted the article on Cyclone? Now that just angers me. I worked my ass off for a half hour just doing that, so which one of you deleted it, huh? I have just remade the Wiki, and I'll be very disappointed if someone does decide to delete it... Tentimesone (talk) 09:24, 17 March 2008 (UTC)tentimesone

What I would recommend

I do not think that this article is a good place to talk about the park's incidents. I recommend to move them all to the article List of incidents at independent amusement parks. Evking22 (talk) 13:47, 25 October 2016 (UTC)

Could you provide an explanation as to why you think this? I assume you mean anything more than a brief summary of events is not recommended, yes? - Shiftchange (talk) 10:32, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
I came across the article after hearing about the recent incident. Most theme park articles I have seen do not generally list incidents in a section on its own article. I personally believe that showing them here is not right. I'd also like to hear from other users about this issue as well. Evking22 (talk) 02:19, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
@Shiftchange and Evking22:
Perhaps the incident would be better off being a stand alone article? I suppose we will have to wait to see the long-term 'fallout', though the owner of Dreamworld, Ardent Leisure, has taken a large drop in their shares [1] (not that I care about that!).
Another page 'connected' to this event, and which mentions it are the rides' own page Thunder River Rapids Ride.
Which should be the 'main' page, Dreamworld, or the actual ride page at 'Thunder River Rapids Ride'? Ardent Leisure has no mention at the moment.
Roaring Rapids is a visually similar ride made by Intamin, and the incident was incorrectly added (it appears), 3 times, to the Intamin page. Some online info apparently incorrectly said they were the manufacturer, see Parkz. Intamins' website has message denying manufacturing or supplying ride. --220 of Borg 05:52, 27 October 2016 (UTC)

Content Fork

The incident is probably notable enough for its own article, so maybe we should move most of it out there and reduce the mention here, as it is WP:Undue. AIRcorn (talk) 01:33, 28 October 2016 (UTC)

I'm a bit surprised most expansion was here. I would have thought that the rides own page, Thunder River Rapids Ride would be more likely, and the 1,000 fold increase in page views there suggests so too. Ardent Leisure Dreamworlds' owners, still needs a mention of the incident on the page, and they are getting a fair bit of flak over their response. I'll do that if no one beats me to it. - 220 of Borg 08:31, 28 October 2016 (UTC)
Per above I have expanded the Ardent Leisure page with a 'Criticism' section, mainly mentioning this incident, here and the 'fallout' from it. --220 of Borg 16:06, 28 October 2016 (UTC)
You are right, the ride page seems the most logical place for the bulk of the information. Maybe we should do a straight swap of the two sections. I wouldn't label the the section at Ardent Leisure criticism either as we generally try to avoid those headings (per NPOV and that they act as a magnet for undue additions). As that is the only incident in the section I would just go with "Thunder River Rapids Ride incident". AIRcorn (talk) 17:29, 28 October 2016 (UTC)
Jpp858 seems to have 'usurped' this discussion and copied the content from this page to the ride page, see here. 220 of Borg 21:11, 28 October 2016 (UTC)
There is a redirect at a likely page name Thunder River Rapids Ride incident, which I have now altered to link to the ride page 'Incident' section rather than Dreamworld. 220 of Borg 21:35, 28 October 2016 (UTC)
It happens. Technically they should have left links in the edit summary, but that is a pretty common mistake. AIRcorn (talk) 23:22, 28 October 2016 (UTC)
I have a left them a 'note' about the issue. There is a 'proper' attribution template for these occasions, possibly meant more for article splits & merges. I have found it a bit fiddly to use though. 220 of Borg 06:01, 29 October 2016 (UTC)
