Somebody went and placed disambiguation tags on articles that will never ever be confused. No one who is looking for Dodge Caravan will read Nissan Caravan on accident and vice versa. And the Cessna Caravan warning is plainly absurd. Just additional useless debris placed here for no reason. Thanks,  Mr.choppers | ✎  18:37, 14 January 2017 (UTC)

It's my sense that disambiguation would be more in place to help a, perhaps technologically naive, reader looking for info about a vehicle (or vehicles) simply named 'Caravan'. Mr. Chopper, I get the impression that you're a person with a broad and detailed knowledge of vehicles (types, models, manufacturers, etc.) ... As such, please realize that you (and others with comparable preexisting knowledge) are most likely not the target audience for such a dab tag. I can see how with the knowledge and experience you bring to bear a disambiguation tag might seem trivial or frivolous to you, but please consider that not everyone comes to an encyclopedia with such a wealth of knowledge in advance. A lack of knowledge may even be what brings some readers to an encyclopedic article in the first place, yes? --Kevjonesin (talk) 22:45, 14 January 2017 (UTC)

1984-1995 are one generation

The van received a heavy update in 1991, but it is still based on the original van that started production in 1984. Therefore, it's not accurate to refer to the 1991-1995 models as a "second generation". The 1991 was a "new" generation according to Chrysler, but the automotive press (correctly) considered it to be a heavy update...not a "new generation" or "new model".

Merging the minivan articles.

The Dodge Caravan, Plymouth Voyager and Chrysler Town & Country are more or less the same vehicle, differentiated only by trim and equipment. Each van had its individual article, and all three of those articles basically had the same information, all of which was forked from each other, with varying quality. Then on top of that, there was then another individual article for the Chrysler Voyager, which was basically a slightly modified Caravan for export, that was a low-quality fork from the Dodge Caravan article. And then another Chrysler minivans article that is another overview of all the generations. How many articles do we need to just say the same thing over and over again about the same topic? I don't understand why coverage of them is spread around multiple redundant articles, as I believe that all of the vans can sufficiently be covered by one article, that was made up of the best information from each article. Not only is it easier for the reader, as all the information about these vans are in one place, but it also makes it easier for us to improve our coverage of these vans and ensure uniform quality with the edits and articles. For an example, the Fiat/PSA joint developed minivans just have a single article, Eurovans, instead of having four individual articles for the Citroën Evasion, Fiat Ulysse, Lancia Zeta and Peugeot 806 that are all clones of each other just like the vans they are covering. Thus I've compiled all four of those articles into new articles about each generation:

Since Chrysler has merged all of their minivans into one model for 2017, the Chrysler Pacifica (RU), that article can stay just the way it is.

Now remains the question of what article should be the master article. After creating the five aforementioned articles I began the merging process. As the Chrysler Town & Country, Plymouth Voyager and Chrysler Voyager were little more than forks of this one, I didn't run into any objection in merging them. But I faced objection when I merged this article into the Chrysler minivans article - in hindsight a very hasty move I shouldn't have done without discussion, as this is the most heavily developed article covering the Chrysler minivans - the one that the articles about its rebadged variants seemed to sprout from.

So the question now is, which article should be the master article? Should this article be the main article, just be renamed "Chrysler minivan" and have the individual generation articles linked from each generation subsection, with the "Chrysler minivans" moved to "Chrysler S platform"? I am a little uneasy about "Dodge Caravan" being the main article as the Caravan nameplate was never held in higher importance than the other three - It's not like the case of Ford vehicles, where the Ford model is considered the main model and the rebadged Mercury clone being a mere offshoot - even though it was arguably the most prominent, and it the last of the nameplates to remain in use. I would like some discussion here about how would be the best way to do this. Reattacollector (talk) 17:19, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

I don't know if this is still to discuss,, but i would keep this article, because Dodge continues the old chrysler lookalike while Chrysler itself stoped producing them. Norschweden (talk) 22:59, 5 April 2017 (UTC)

Support Redirect Dodge Caravan, Chrysler Voyager, and Plymouth Voyager to Chrysler minivans. Make Chrysler Town & Country a disambig page which goes either to the older wagon model or Chrysler minivans. Leave Chrysler Pacifica as is (disambig to the crossover or the minivan). Personally, I think all the Chrysler minivan generation articles can be merged into "1st generation" (1984-1995), "2nd generation" (1996-2007), and "3rd generation" (2008-2017), since the first two and second two "platforms" are very similar. --Vossanova o< 21:36, 27 April 2017 (UTC)
