POV edit

There was quite a bit of POV; specifically with regard to the group's affiliations, rivals and activities. None of the links indicate that they were affiliated with the Bloods gangs of the U.S. let alone rivals of the Crips. Indeed, the police state that at its height, the group was mainly based out of one road in Toronto. They also indicate that the group's main activities were weapons and drug trafficking, not the litany of activities alleged in the infobox. According to the police, the group is now also largely dismantled after their official probe/raid and the ensuing arrests. Middayexpress (talk) 21:50, 8 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Look, I can see why you edited the article. Maybe the group isn't of that much importance and doesn't meet the notability criteria. But what I don't understand is that you deleted information that is clearly stated in the article. The gang is based in Toronto, but it is clearly said that the group's tentacles reach into other cities including but not limited to Edmonton. Next, the articles clearly state that the group's members are mainly of African (more precisely Somali) descent. The fact that there are Somali organized crime groups active (just like there are dozens of criminal groups composed of Italians, Albanians, Irish, Mexicans, African Americans,...you name it), isn't really shocking news. I mean no offense by this and in some ways you really restructured the article in a good way. Kind regards Begbiepwns (talk) 09:02, 9 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
Actually, it's the Toronto police that suggested that at its height, the outfit mainly operated out of one road in Toronto but also operated through associates as far west as Edmonton. Officers with Edmonton's organized crime branch confirmed that they had encountered Dixon Blood associates from Toronto, but there was no evidence that the gang was operating as a criminal organization in the Edmonton area. Also, none of the links say anything about the group members being mainly of African descent. What one states is that of the 43 arrested individuals, many of those charged were specifically of Somali descent. The OP therefore stands. Middayexpress (talk) 16:06, 9 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Remove WikiProject Law Enforcement as article outside scope of project edit

I removed the WikiProject Law Enforcement banner as I think this article is outside the scope of that project. While the Police may investigate crime and be a source of information about crime, but they do not cause the crime, only investigate the crimes, apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice. Having this article assigned to WikiProject Law Enforcement implies either the Dixon Bloods are a law enforcement organisation or law enforcement are part of the Dixon Bloods. Neither is the case, so this article is outside the scope of WikiProject Law Enforcement. Explain your reasoning if you think differently and want to add the banner back. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 06:23, 15 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
