Seems that references at the bottom lists the etiquette PDF twice - not sure how to fix this though as there is just a tag marked refs on the edit page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.197.11.201 (talk) 07:20, 10 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

History of the article edit

The article had slowly developed from just a couple of lines to a nice stub. I expanded it and removed its "stub status", however, any and all proof-reading, resources and citations, and additions are welcome. :) Nightngle 20:03, 13 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please do not link to message boards and the like here - while there are a number of good message boards that discuss Disney pins, as a rule, they are not a good source of encyclopedic reference for the subject. Please see Wikipedia:External links for more information. Nightngle 13:32, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'm adding additional information and I'll be finishing the final sections in a day or two. Toadwildride (talk) 21:14, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've finished. If I think of any other things to add, I will. I'll also have some traders read through it. Toadwildride (talk) 02:57, 30 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Title edit

Shouldn't the article be titled Disney pin collecting? Blast Ulna (talk) 21:45, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Technically, Disney refers to the situation as Pin Trading... whether trading is involved or not. (The official webpage is properly named officialdisneypintrading.com) Toadwildride (talk) 22:20, 29 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well, okay, but all other Wikipedia articles are so named; Stamp collecting, Coin collecting, Book collecting, Insect collecting, AOL disk collecting, Fossil collecting, Plant collecting, Scouting memorabilia collecting, Comic book collecting, Patch collecting, Casino chip collecting, Police memorabilia collecting, Record collecting, Bicycle collecting, Video game collecting, Waterfowl decoy collecting, Topical stamp collecting and Sneaker collecting. "Trading" is used for financial topics or with trading cards, and never in the generic sense. Blast Ulna (talk) 00:11, 30 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
For that matter, there are no articles called Disney pin or Disney pins. Blast Ulna (talk) 00:13, 30 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I agree with your point, but Disney has titled it Pin Trading. Unless Disney decides to change its name, we'll have to go with trading. Toadwildride (talk) 02:57, 30 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

The reason not to move it to "Disney pin" is that a singular "pin" doesn't make sense since there are many thousands of pins. I agree with Toadwildride, Disney has branded this as "Disney Pin Trading" and all their marketing materials and logos reflect this term. It's not being used in a generic sense, but a very specific sense decided on by Disney. For ease of people finding the article, a redirect from Disney pins and maintaining the current article title is best. Nightngle (talk) 16:17, 2 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
