Sony CD D50 Discman edit
I am the owner of original D50. Service says the laser unit is dead and can not be repaired / changed !?! Image:Discman-SONY-logo.gif is being used on this article. Yes, or it should at least have a section on notable models over the years before Minidisc, ATRAC/MP3 and phones took over.
No direct walkman equivalent edit
It should be noted that the discman was never intended as a functional, truly mobile replacement for the walkman. It took very long, up until the early 2000s or so, if ever, to come up with discmen that were truly as portable as that you could walk around with them. --2003:EF:1700:B439:E973:7C5E:5D6A:FB10 (talk) 17:31, 12 December 2020 (UTC)
On Discman brand use. edit
While the CD Walkman brand began replacing the Discman brand in 1997, the latter was used until at least 2000 with the D-E201 and alike.
