Name spelling error: Meinerts/Meinhertz

It is a quite common frisian name. - As I said, the pronunciation sounds the same. (And afaik german expats and immigrants quite often changed the spelling of names to match the pronounciation.) --89.204.138.24 (talk) 22:43, 23 February 2017 (UTC)

I've reverted the headline name to the most usual spelling, with the original in parentheses, a common way to deal with such problems, and created a redirect from the original spelling. Thanks for the information. Doug butler (talk) 01:17, 24 February 2017 (UTC)

Well, the monument says ′Meinertz′, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dirk_Meinhertz_Hahn#/media/File:CAPTAIN_HAHN_MONUMENT_-_HAHNDORF.jpg. No, his actual name is ′Meinerts′. The fact that his name was spelt differently in Australia is not relevant for the title of the article. Of course, his ′Australian′ name(s) should be mentioned in the first line, in reverse order to the present state. --Vanellus (talk) 05:58, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
