Water boards

edit

I think the article should elaborate a bit on the relationship with the Water boards.

English name of Rijkswaterstaat

edit

The ministry uses the name 'Rijkswaterstaat' in English[1]. The current title here ('Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management') is an outdated name. Should this page be updated to reflect Rijkswaterstaat's own naming conventions? --Hermandirkzw (talk) 10:29, 27 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

Directorate-General for Public Works and Water ManagementRijkswaterstaat – Since a few years the name Rijkswaterstaat is used in all languages. Translations are no longer in use and are actively discouraged. Herriemand (talk) 19:30, 23 May 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. --lettherebedarklight晚安 (おやすみなさい)。 08:24, 4 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose. Wikipedia is not the place to promote use of the new name. We follow common usage. The claim that Translations are no longer in use and are actively discouraged is only half true, and that half is irrelevant to us here. They are in use. Andrewa (talk) 05:40, 31 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Directorate-General for Public Works and Water ManagementRijkswaterstaat – The old name(NOT long name) is not used by anyone and is not common usage anymore, any government and new documents don’t use the old name, also I believe Wikipedia policy has nothing against changing of names to update with usage of the past few years also the government website has been updated Alexander vee (talk) 00:54, 2 November 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 07:31, 9 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
