The death of Diodotus II is likely to have happened in 223/222 BC, since Strabon refers to it as being simultaneous with a conflict between the kings of Syria and Media. This should according to Jeffrey D Lerner (The Impact of Seleucid Decline on the Eastern Iranian Plateau) refer to the war between Antiochus IIIand the usurper Molon.
The term, rapist, at the beginning of this entry needs some explanation since it is such an unusual way to beginning an entry about an ancient ruler. I will wait 24 hours for comment/discussion before editing the entry.--Markisgreen (talk) 13:33, 3 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
