It should definitively be merged.

Advantages and disadvantages

edit

The bulk of this article is in two sections, Advantages and Disadvantages. Unfortunately, this has produced an article that is essentially two lists of bullet points and, consequently, it fails to explain what DALI is and how it works. I recommend the following to remedy this:

  • Convert each pro/con point into a sentence, complete with explanation of the underlying relevant facts.
  • Delete the advantages/disadvantages sections, which should be empty when step #1 is complete.

Move to IEC 62386?

edit

I think this page should be renamed 'IEC 62386 Digitial Addressable Lighting Interface' and be the official article for that standard, and linked from List_of_IEC_standards . Unless someone objects I will do it later.
I will also add sections for -101 and -102 as the latter is a new addition to the standard. Pontushammarback (talk) 23:58, 9 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

At first glance I don't have a problem with moving it, but the article has been at this title for a long time and there are many links to it. Before moving it, I recommend that you restate this as a formal move proposal and provide a logical reason for the move. Also, it would be helpful to invite other editors to comment, and allow time for that to happen, before moving it. Lambtron (talk) 03:48, 10 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
Good points, thanks for feedback. As a noob around here I'm not exactly sure how to A) request formal move proposal, and B) invite editors. I'll certainly allow time first! Pontushammarback (talk) 01:37, 22 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
To resolve this, I've restored the subject to the lead sentence per WP:BEGIN and created IEC 62386 as a redirect to this article. Lambtron (talk) 15:10, 14 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
