This article looks so funny, written by an authorised qualified individual:

"...defeating the South Indian invaders that were ruling the country at that time" - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dhatusena_of_Anuradhapura

"The country was invaded in 433 by Tamils apparently of or related to the Pandyan dynasty from South India, known as "the Six Dravidians" - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dhatusena_of_Anuradhapura

"The rightful heir, Moggallana, fearing for his life, fled to South India- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sigiriya

In India he raised an army with the intention of returning and retaking the throne of Sri Lanka, which he considered to be rightfully his. Expecting the inevitable return of Moggallana, Kashyapa is said to have built his palace on the summit of Sigiriya as a fortress as well as a pleasure palace. Moggallana finally arrived, declared war, and defeated Kashyapa in 495 CE. During the battle Kashyapa's armies abandoned him and he committed suicide by falling on his sword"- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sigiriya

from the above we anyone could ask:

Dhatusena was a king of Sri Lanka who ruled from 455 to 473 AD. He was the first king of the Moriyan dynasty –Moriyan in Sri lanka, not an invader?

The country was invaded in 433 by Tamils apparently of or related to the Pandyan dynasty from South India – invading enemy?

Moggallana – a Moriyan, fearing for his life, fled to South India for help – now it was friendly?

In India (North India? Come on!) …he (Moggallana) raised an army with the intention of returning and retaking the throne of Sri Lanka from who? – not an invasion now? returning from Tamil country, with help?

"…he (Moggallana) raised an army" – who were they, Sinhalese or Tamil?

It is clearly seen that the people of the island had close tie with South India, the Tamil country and got help from them whenever needed. It was impossible to rule independently without the help of the Tamil, their parent tribe. Now they are called invaders.

The island was in their mercy all the time now and then.

Above all, Vijayan was the No. 1 invader, in the first place. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.51.138.213 (talk) 21:24, 18 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
