I have heard the island referred to as 'Ship's Rock' yet I can only find it mapped as Denny Island. Anybody else heard it called this? Also I noticed on Ordnance Survey maps that the English/Welsh border line appears to goe through the island. If this is the case then is only half the island under the jurisdiction of Monmouthsire?

Tidal range

It has so often been cited that the estuary boasts the world's second highest tidal range that it has become 'an established fact' though survey in recent years shows that it is not in fact true. See http://www.bofep.org/PDFfiles/BoFEP6thProceedings.pdf for example and also https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/faq2.html#26 - the latter lists six localities around the Bay of Fundy as having higher tides, all rolled into one if one simply takes the Bay of Fundy as the location. They are followed by Ungava Bay and then by 'Port of Bristol (Avonmouth), UK' (though again various localities could be taken across the area). cheers Geopersona (talk) 13:58, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
