Kebab shops, chippies, and Louden Tavern edit

"Fine culinary delights such as plentiful Kebab shops (most notably 'Gills all In One'), Chippies and salted nuts in 'The Lea Rig' abound in the district."

This removed as not particularly relevant or distinctive (name me an area of inner Glasgow without plentiful kebab shops and chippies) and subject to frequent change. The famous Tapa and Coia's cafes, both on the junction of Whitehill Street and Duke Street, would more merit inclusion.

"The area is also home to the world-reknowned Rangers F.C. supporters bar 'The Louden Tavern'."

Is the Louden Tavern really "world-reknowned"? I'm a life-long Rangers supporter, but before moving to Dennistoun I'd never heard of it, and other than on this site, the only place I've heard it described as such is painted across the front of the pub itself.

Thanks for that, Finton. I got fed up reverting these changes, added by User:Kolyma-Covenant, I suspect just as a wind-up. I tried to argue that the Louden wasn't even famous in Glasgow, never mind the world, but I just got shot down as I'm a Celtic supporter, so it's good to see a Rangers' supporter back me up. As for the kebab-shops etc., that's just plain silly, for the reasons you give above, so I hope you'll help in keeping such ephemera out. Camillus (talk) 11:46, 12 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've removed the Louden Tavern reference. It's unverified, apart from anything else.
