Updates

I was only originally intending to fix some simple formatting and sentence structure issues, but once I opened the page I found a few more problems that needed to be addressed, so I wanted to document them here.

1. The two references in the first paragraph were both broken links. But since they appeared to be articles confirming he had been cast in (at the time) future TV shows - shows which now have their own Wikipedia pages listing him as a cast member - I just removed them and didn't search for replacements.

2. I also removed this paragraph from the opening section.

Before relocating to Los Angeles in January 2013, Deniz trained with Bruce Alexander at Melbourne Acting Studio. From his LA base, Deniz continues to be coached via Skype by Bruce, who now operates his studio in London.

Firstly, if the paragraph should exist it would belong under Personal Life, because it's in reference to his education. But overall I think it simply shouldn't exist at all. I've done some careful Googling, and I have found no articles or other forms of non-original research, that make the relationship between Deniz and the studio or Alexander noteworthy. And I further found no reason that Alexander or the studio are independently noteworthy, to provide a tangential justification for the paragraph to exist. It frankly, reads like an advertisement for the studio. And the fact that all I found in my Googling was more Wikis and Wiki-like profiles, listing the exact same paragraph in their bios of Deniz, only furthers the appearance that the paragraphs purpose is advertising.

Plus, it used as a reference the supposed website of the studio. But that URL is going to a spam-heavy marketing redirect page, not any normal website. That's why I pulled out the formatting to turn that into a active link. If someone wants to open it, I suggest they only do so under - at minimum - Incognito Mode security.

If anyone has a source that verifies if this studio, or Mr. Alexander, are famous enough in Australia or the UK to make his training of Deniz a noteworthy piece of information to include in this article, then please do reinstate the paragraph with that source.

3. I added a reference to the phrase "Australian box office hit" from the first paragraph. I almost took it out, but after reviewing the box office info on that film's article, I decided to leave it in. So I added a link to that subsection as the reference. Yes, it's dicey to call something a "box office hit" when it made less money than it's budget. However, it was the highest grossing film of 2010 in Australia, and a #1 in both Australia and New Zealand. While it may not be internationally true, it's fair to say the film was an Australian box office hit. And I think referring to it that way reinforces why it was noteworthy to include his award nomination for that film in the first paragraph of his article.

Everything else was just funky sentences and phrasing, that I cleaned up. CleverTitania (talk) 00:34, 10 August 2018 (UTC)

Missing filmography reference

He is in a 2019 TV show “For All Mankind”, and it’s not listed. I’m not knowledgeable enough to add this information 71.115.170.74 (talk) 01:17, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
