The Edinburgh Monthly Magazine and Review^[1], reporting his marriage, states that General Wemyss was Governor of Tynemouth Castle and Cliffe Fort - and Colonel of the 93rd. However, this last appears incorrect as General William Wemyss of Wemyss held that position. Shipsview (talk) 18:17, 27 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
