Talk:Darkness and Light (novel)

Inconsistancies edit

I thought about adding a part for inconsistancies. I can think of three:

1) In the short story "Kitiara's son", we learn how and why Steel Brightblade was conceived. Darkness and Light makes no mention of this happening, though I think this is more the fault of the short story rather than this particular novel since it came out first.

2) Sturm makes no mention of ever meeting a brass dragon in the Chronicles trilogy. I think that would be big news to the other companions because several of them are shocked when they learn that there are good dragons.

3) Sturm never mentions the birth of draconians to the companions, and upon his first encounter with them in Chronicles, he's almost genuinely shocked.

I could have added that stuff, but is it really worth it?--Soulforge19 09:29, 30 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sturm fought draconians in The Oath and the Measure as well. I am not sure if this kind of information is considered original research, that is, this is information we get after comparing two or more sources and determine something. It would be better if we could find a source for that information (an interview, a critic, etc). -- ReyBrujo 13:11, 30 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

This is article should be renamed edit

This book is not a science fiction novel and the article should be renamed.

Dragonlance is a fantasy campaign setting/shared world. The elements of flying ships almost certainly are based on the Spelljammer D&D campaign setting. This is also a fantasy campaign setting/shared world. (It may be set in space, but it is a fantasy space setting - not science fiction.)

I believe that the person who named this article either misunderstands what Spelljammer is or thinks that anything involving space is science fiction.

I propose that this article is renamed something like: 'Darkness and Light'. Tbis name is free and currently redirects here. Big Mac 12:49, 9 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

It appears that the article was moved on Feb 1st by somebody in anticipation of a future possible conflict with another novel of the same name that had been written last year. However, as none of that authors novels have any articles about them yet, I don't anticipate his "Darkness and Light" novel will anytime soon either. If it does, we can move this to "Darkness and Light (Dragonlance novel)" and setup a proper disambiguation page here, but for the moment I don't think there's any problem with leaving the article here. --Maelwys 13:38, 9 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
