Talk:Daimler Hire

edit

I saw a big advertisement in the caption of a thumbnail of this article. The last time I saw something like that, I deleted it, in accordance with WP:CAPTION, and found myself in an edit war with the editor responsible for it that didn't end until the editors in the WikiProject covering the article formed a consensus against keeping it.

This time, however, I have found an alternative: I have removed it from the thumbnail caption and placed it in a quote box. I am still not convinced that the advertisement belongs in this article, and I have started this section to discuss whether it should remain. It is still there, for now, pending the outcome of the discussion, but at least it is not in a thumbnail caption any more.

Does the advertisement, as a quote, really improve the article? What is the advantage of having the exact wording of an advertisement in an article instead of including information from the advertisement and using it as a source? (Then again, unless I'm mistaken, WP:RS doesn't accept advertisements as reliable sources anyway!)
