- The name "Curl Up and Die" spawned from a joke within the band: "At first we were trying to start just like this fake, funny band. Stupid spooky grind-core stuff, we saw a hair place called Curl Up and Dye, like D Y E. We thought that was a pretty funny name and we changed it to D I E, and left it the way it was."
- Many comparisons of CUAD to the band Converge have been made over the years, although the similarities are sparse aside from the general style of music. One reason for said comparison is likely because CUAD frequently worked with Converge's very own guitarist/song writer/producer/engineer, Kurt Ballou, whilst recording their albums at Godcity Studio.
- CUAD had rough relations over the years with Revelation Records. Originally pleased with the signing in 2001 stating, "They do a lot of advertising. (They) push the record really good, which is something a lot of labels do not do. They just have the means to let everyone know that your record's out" and "Just... more people working for them. More resources", (in comparison with previous label Status Recordings). However, in 2005, the band seemed tired and unhappy with the label's work, stating, "It's really discouraging to be on that label, too. Like how hard we had to fight to get this next record put out. Just dealing with them between this next one, the two EPs and with Status, and I just think they're a really conservative and cheap label that doesn't want to spend any money. They just cut corners in weird ways to not put out a good quality record. Ways you wouldn't even have to spend tons of money on. If they don't want to put effort into these bands or work with bands to make good records, then they shouldn't be doing it. It's just really discouraging. You can talk to tons of bands and talk to them about how Rev broke them up and really discouraged the shit out of them, and they do do that to a point. There are good people there who help at times, but they can't help now. We started because we thought it would be cool, but yeah". From this, it is possible that record label troubles may have largely contributed – amongst other things – to the break up of the band later that year.
- During a show at a Las Vegas comic store, early in the band's career, drummer Jesse Fitts broke and threw a drum stick into the crowd. Unfortunately for the band, the stick struck a female fan (a friend of Jesse's) in the face above the eye. Some people claimed that the girl's eye was "hanging out" and that the band had done it intentionally, but it later turned out that the injury was minor.
- Many people called CUAD "Curl Up and Cancel" for their repeated cancellations of shows for various reasons.
- Matt Fuchs played guitar in the band Vulcans; Geoff Bergman, on the other hand, "played" bass for the same band for a short time before going off to become a roadie for Chris Daughtry. Mike Minnick joined Black Panther Arms that also had members from Las Vegas band Beacon. The band was short lived and have since broken up.
