Cook County IL edit

It seems to me that cook county, IL is by far more notable than the others on this list (on account of containing Chicago). In my opinion, "cook county" should default to the illinois county rather than straight to the disambiguation page. Will leave this alone myself, on account of being an IL resident. 130.126.24.154 (talk) 21:17, 8 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Cook CountyCook County (disambiguation)Cook County, Illinois, with its 5.2 million residents, is 85X more populous than the other Cook counties combined. I also set up a news email alert for "Cook Counry" and every result was for Illinois. Cook County should redirect to Cook County, Illinois like how King County redirects to the most populous one. • Oppose; far too generic for there to be a definitive primary topic. Powers T 23:26, 4 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Support: The county in Illinois is the primary topic pbp 13:03, 5 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. The other Cook Counties have fewer than 20,000 residents (2) or no longer exist (2). —  AjaxSmack  17:38, 5 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Move Of course Chicago is primary over all the tiny counties. How is that even debatable? Ego White Tray (talk) 01:38, 7 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
    • To quote an earlier commenter, "larger population does not necessarily make it the Primary." The question is, is just "Cook County" recognizable to English speakers outside of Chicagoland, or outside of the U.S.? Powers T 18:02, 9 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. A look at the article traffic stats for the first week of August shows that the Illinois county was viewed 3,435 times; the other ones (including the disambiguation page) totaled 555. That clearly meets the standard of WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. Dohn joe (talk) 17:16, 7 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. The only one known internationally. Kanguole 14:37, 10 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
