A citation is needed for Raiford playing Negro league baseball. I wasn't able to find his name listed in either James Riley's Biographical Encyclopedia of the Negro Baseball Leagues or Dick Clark and Larry Lester's The Negro Leagues Book, the two most comprehensive reference books on Negro league baseball players.
