Close paraphrasing

I haven't thoroughly combed through this article, but there are several signs that make me concerned for a copyvio, including an earlier sourcing to an open wiki that has a license incompatible with ours. What really triggered my alarm is the needless explanation of what an autosomal recessive defect is, with sourcing to an article on bovine genetics that actually does not even contain the phrase "autosomal recessive" (the Nature Genetics article, DOI 10.1038/ng.96).

Here are the problems I've noticed on a very superficial skimming ("this article" refers to revision 580272718, which was the initial edit by the page creator, with subsequent edits mostly being wikification):

• From the "primefacts" newsletter (AU government production from May 2010, therefore probably not PD, see [1]):
  • Original: "Diagnosis of CA is made by physical examination of the live newborn calf, preferably within 24 hours of birth and preferably by a veterinarian or breeder familiar with CA." (from page 1 of the Primefacts newsletter)
  • This article: "Diagnosis of CA can be made with a physical examination of new born calves. This should be done in the first 24 hours after birth, preferably done by a veterinarian or experienced breeder."
  • Original p.1: "... caused by an error in the DNA genetic code transmitted from parents to their progeny."
  • This article: "CA is caused by a specific error in the DNA. This means it can be passed on from parents to offspring."
  • Original p.2: "Unusually long leg bones resulting in abnormally tall stature and higher frame scores;"
  • This article: "... abnormal long leg bones resulting in a tall stature, ..."
• From the Whitlock source:
  • Original, p.3: "Congenital Contractural Arachnodactyly (CA), also known as “Fawn Calf Syndrome”, is a non-lethal autosomal recessive genetic defect of Angus cattle."
  • This article: "Congenital Contractural Arachnodactyly (CA) is a non lethal autosomal recessive genetic defects in cattle"
• The "Vetbook" wiki (no longer cited, but material still present):
  • Original: "CA is classified as a heritable disorder of connective tissue, specifically a disorder of the endomycium and perimycium. The defect in the muscle connective tissue results in a reduced range of elastic extension (ie reduced elasticity) of the muscle-tendon complex - from muscle contraction to muscle relaxation - manifest as proximal contractures."
  • This article: "CA is classified as a heritable disorder of connective tissue, specifically a disorder of the edomycium and perimycium. The defect in the muscle connective tissue results in a reduced range of elastic extension"
