Large amount of Greek text edit

So I tagged this article {{Not English}} because there's a large amount of Greek text that doesn't have English translation. Jac16888 (greetings!) reverted with the edit summary "translating something like this would be original research, sourced translation is needed". That's a good point, though some of the lines are already translated with no citation given, so I'm not sure where that's coming from? This is the English Wikipedia, so I think we have to assume our readers can only understand English...that would imply that any non-English text either needs to be translated (or at least explained) or we might as well remove it as being unintelligible? Upon deeper reflection, I'm also not sure just having a list of textual differences is entirely encyclopedia, though this information is useful for people debating and studying the Christian Bible. It would be interesting to know if there are any lively debates surrounding or doctrinal consequences arising from these differences; that would be a bit more notable for an encyclopedia article. I'm open to suggestions...I guess I'll tentatively tag this for cleanup with a more complicated message, but feel free to modify it to whatever you think would be an improvement. -- Beland (talk) 18:37, 14 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

General comments on the differences between the two codices might be encyclopedic, but I'm inclined to think that posting the raw Greek data for verse after verse is outside of Wikipedia's scope, myself. Alephb (talk) 00:43, 16 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
Supplementing the comment of Alephb, should these variants even be listed in this article, or should they instead be fully incorporated into the main textual variants article?(Gabeedman (talk) 14:56, 20 November 2021 (UTC))Reply
