hyphen edit

Is it reasonable that the article "Color Line" is about a commercial ferry boat and this article is titled with a hyphen?

Few references to the color line use a hyphen, which is more appropriate for an adjective than for a noun in American english today. Nor is there any hyphen in the first use by DuBois quoted here. --P64 (talk) 01:50, 4 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

definition needed edit

I came to this article from an academic reference to "the colour line", to me an unfamiliar phrase. I was disappointed not to find a brief definition at the start; I then read quickly through the article and found myself not much wiser. What should it be? How about opening " 'The color line' is a phrase used in race relations to refer to a distinctive cultural barrier between black and white people, either in the United States, or more widely"?
