Can anybody tell me the basic difference between charcoal dust and coal dust produced during mining (i.e. steam coal dust) whether charcoal dust can be used in place of steam coal dust in foundry sand addition?

Coal "dust" as a deliberate product? edit

Despite this article's assertions, I can't find any good sourcing for "coal dust" as a term applied to the deliberate manufacture of powdered coal. Now "pulverised coal" has plenty of uses as a fuel, and "coal dust" has the well-known hazards of both explosion and respiratory problems. But I can't find serious sources discussing these two very separate situations using the same term of "dust" for both.

Should we thus split the coverage of the article more clearly? Keep "coal dust" here and describe just the accidentally-formed, generally-problematic form; whilst also writing an article at pulverized coal on its deliberate manufacture and use as a fuel?
