Use of unreliable sources

When I copied the content from environmental migrant to here I got a warning message about using unreliable sources which were detected by a bot. I had to ignore that message at the time. But how do I get it back now where I need to check through the list of sources used? I don't have those blacklisted sources at my fingertips so it would be good if I could get them displayed again. (maybe I need to copy and paste the content to my sandbox and could then see the same error message again --> update: I tried that but it didn't work). EMsmile (talk) 08:33, 5 April 2022 (UTC)

Text block moved - useful here?

I have removed the below text block from effects of climate change. It had been added by User:Prototyperspective. It might fit into this article, or the same content might already be here: "The two broad sets of potential interventions are climate change mitigation and building "greater capacity within vulnerable populations so that they may adapt through means that do not lead to distress migration or conflict". There are various reasons for why, especially large-scale- or distant-source-, migration is often widely undesired and opposed in both (or either) host and origin countries, such as shortage of housing, cultural identity or cohesion or sovereignty, and economics-related reasons." Editing article

I will be editing this article because I have learned about the displacement of populations on the coasts, especially in delta regions, caused by tropical storms in some of my classes at Rice University. Many populations in developing countries will likely not be forced to seek shelter in foreign lands where they may not speak the language or have familiarity with the culture. It is important to draw more attention to climate refugees and work towards aiding their successful integration into their new host countries. Therefore, I think it is important that this wiki page is revised.

Possible revisions to the existing article include: The definition and introductory content on this page do not effectively convey the gravity of the issue. I would make it clearer and more engaging to serve as a hook for readers to continue reading about the subject. Furthermore, the subheadings are not in a logical flow and could have better titles. An improved organizational structure with well-defined subheadings can enhance the readability and accessibility of the information. The section that needs to be expanded the most is statistics by region. It needs more statistics, especially individual countries experiencing large migrations due to climate change. This data can become a valuable reference for those seeking specific information on regional and country-level impacts of climate-induced migration. Additionally, the section climate gentrification is an excerpt from the wikipedia page on climate gentrification. There is a broom over is signifying that it is currently written as a personal essay, so this section would need to be edited for neutrality.

Regarding "more engaging to serve as a hook for readers" just bear in mind that we are not telling a story here but writing an encyclopedic entry. I agree the section headings could be improved: try to make them more generic, like "Definition", "Causes", "Effects", "Challenges", "Society and culture" etc. Regarding the lead (summary) please refer to WP:LEAD. Response to Changes

Overall, good job on your contributions to the article! The improved structure of sections and changing the subheadings definitely helped with the comprehensiveness of the content. The pictures within the article are also well-contextualized and formatted. My two biggest suggestions would be to improve the flow of the lead section and to remember to define important terms like "subsistence farming" when introducing them to the article. Contextualizing terms will improve readability for non-expert viewers and that is especially important in Wikipedia. For your lead section, consider connecting the last two sentences by elaborating on their similarities or adding more context to their relation to climate migration. I am so impressed by the amount of research and sources used in this article! You are clearly very knowledgeable on this subject now, and have a lot of important information to share. However, it can be important to remember that not every reader is as well versed in the information as you are, so sometimes the information could be dumbed down a bit. Also, it was super great that you added the Africa and Middle East sections, but the 'statistics by region' section is still a bit chaotic...there are practically three child articles in that section alone! One of the most important things I would suggest you do to the article is to standardize that section a bit more. Maybe make sure that subtopics are grouped into continents-->countries--> states(if needed) to create a general layout and spread out some of the information. Also all of the information there is relevant, but possibly not all necessary (data overload doesn't necessarily make an article better all the time).
