This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... while he strikes me as a minor painter, he has according to the sources made it into at least one dictionary of artists. That should count for something. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 18:27, 7 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... I hope my vote counts even though I wrote the article and even though I think it is a waste of my time to justify this.

Sometimes I think the burden of deletion should be on the person deleting the article. For example, we should ask him/her:

  • where did you not find this person?

But maybe we should use the following logic: 1) most of the links to Claudio Rinaldi on Wikipedia have to do with a poker player. I think it requires more formal training to become an artist than to become a poker player. I would not bet on this, but I hope this is true.

2) the only Claudio Rinaldi with an article on Wikipedia was a speed skater, while speed skater is faster than a painter, Wikipedia should not be only about speed.

3) I figure anyone who won an award at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence over 100 years ago, and whose name has been passed on to us is of interest. I have never won any art prize.

4) I am not interested in only posting articles on the top ten artists of the 19th century, but on the world of Italian art of the time, and including those names felt to be worthy to be mentioned by Gubernatis.

Also the reviewer's note on the place of birth (assuming that is what he said is in error, the Istituto Matteucci's cited birthplace appears to be in error, see the other citation.

declined speedy, fixed links edit

The sources are significant coverage for the era in which he lived. Sometimes one must go beyond reference failure and fix the links. Done. Dlohcierekim 02:32, 8 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
