Diego Rivera edit

The decor at Ciro's included some murals by Diego Rivera. Does anyone have a source with details?Lafong (talk) 02:03, 25 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Closed 1957 edit

"Closed 1957; transformed into rock and roll club in 1965..." implies the venue was closed at least 1958 to 1964. However, this is not the case. I am fan of a recording made 2 Sept 1960 there :

Apparently there was a star-studded event for New Year's Eve 1959: https://www.alamy.com/frank-sinatra-gary-cooper-attend-share-party-at-ciros-nightclub1960-file-reference-34145-465tha-image441821279.html

From the book "Queen: The Life and Music of Dinah Washington" (Nadine Cohodas, 2007) page 509: "California Eagle and Los Angeles Sentinel entertainment pages for December 1960 for ads and short articles about Dinah at Ciro's. Los Angeles Times, November 7, 1959, for purchase of Ciro's by Frank Sennes."

This is one of the 1960 references to Ciro's events from searching Google Books: https://www.google.com/search?q=%221960%22+%22Ciro%27s%22&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS822US823&tbm=bks&sxsrf=ALiCzsYrcVytIEqbURcLGxaKxq9y1iCsKA:1653480977143&source=lnms&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiJgKTS0Pr3AhVFGDQIHcrRAFAQ_AUoAXoECAEQCw&biw=1253&bih=725&dpr=1.1

Does anyone have a copy of "Ciro's: Nightclub of the Stars" (Andra D. Clarke, ‎Regina Denton-Drew · 2015)?

Searching around I don't find more details on those years. Aside from further evidence it was open and using the name Ciro's, I see some of the exact text here that I think one erroneous fact has proliferated. If anyone can shed light on those years including management and specific months it was shuttered, I am curious to know. Tearaway (talk) 12:22, 25 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
