Spam filter edit

I'm trying to change this article from Category:1734 works to Category:1734 plays but am unable to do so, as when I try to save my changes I get a notice that h t t p : / / w w w . c h r o n o n h o t o n t h o l o g o s . c o m has been flagged for spam. Is this in error? Cleduc 05:58, 19 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

It sure seems to be an error. I just went to the site again, and it was just the play, done as web pages. It's possible that the spam filter is looking for nonsense words as a spam flag (the old "miracle V1a6ra 4u!" come-on) and figures that the play's title is such. Otherwise, I don't yet see why it would be flagged. Granted, I didn't go more than 2 pages in, and I didn't see any cookies adherent. It would be interesting to know whether the filter added the entry via bot or human input. If the latter, I want to know, too. Geogre 11:16, 19 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I posted this on Wikipedia:Help desk and got this response:

I think it is likely because the link contains "logo & .com" (In spam filter: (?<![\./])logos\.com). You should probably report this to m:Talk:Spam blacklist#Proposed removals --WinHunter (talk) 06:31, 19 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I followed up with a request at meta:Talk:Spam blacklist#www.chrononhotonthologos.com which is under consideration. Cleduc 12:52, 19 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • Thanks for your perserverence on this. It sounds like a "rule" based addition, and the site may be an exception. Geogre 13:02, 19 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
