Chip heaters are one of those artefacts that everyone knows about but precise details are hard to come by. I put togather some information I had got for another project and put it on Wikipedia hopeing that it will serve as a base for others to add more information to. Iain Stuart 00:52, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
You could buy chip heaters up to relatively recently. I'd like to buy another as was raised with them. Handy if the EHWS dies and if the combustion water tank develops a leak. Our chip heaters (several as they burn out) used to sit betweeen the copper and the old fashioned bath with the smoke going out the adjacent copper window, or just up through the hole in the roof that the cat also used to peer in. Some heat heated that end of the bath. I think 'they' used to advertise chip heaters in GR or EG, two well known back to earth mags. EG is online. Peter Pedals might know where to get them from in lieu. jacqui
