Distance to Chi Cygni totally wrong edit
The parallax of Chi Cygni according to the Simbad database is 5.53+-1.10 mas. That translates to 590 light years. Not 350 light years. Mollwollfumble (talk) 12:25, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
"Average" magnitude claims edit
Thought I should explain more here since my edit summary got cut off. Averaging the maximum and minimum magnitudes for a variable star doesn't allow any claims to be made about whether a star is usually visible to the naked eye or not. Stars which intermittently dim may be visible to the naked eye most of the time, then occasionally not. In any case, it runs foul of WP:OR or WP:SYNTHESIS, or both. It should be possible to summarise the content in the body of the article in such a way that it is justified to claim it isn't visible to the naked eye most of the time (eg. a light curve), but basing it on an average alone isn't the way to do it.
