Note for "Cotty21" : We need a ref for the claim that "At one point Charles Dyson Perrins was the 6th richest man europe, including inflation this figure is aprox. 16 .07 billions £" . Dear "Mervyn", the ref stated was his remaining wealth to be inherited by his remaining family Marylena Cottrell (nee Dyson Perrins) and Sheila Thomas (nee Dyson Perrins - now deceased). The extensive research I carried out for the Dyson Perrins High School, has uncovered many charitable trusts totalling more than £50,000,000 form approximately around 1925 - 1930 which adjusted to inflation is just shy of £600,000,000. It is very hard to estimate priceless artefacts and literature Charles collected but these were valued in 2005 by renowned historian Hector Palmer to be worth in excess of ten billion sterling. The £16.07 billion figure retrieved for the UK published Evening Standard estimated at approximately £700,000,000 in 1901 (although this was defined as family new worth - fathers) with adjusted today’s inflation is approximately £16 billion.

Do you have the full text of the reference in the Evening Standard? £700,000,000 seems very high for the period.
If the figure in the Evening Standard ref is a correct ref, perhaps it will be fair to say something like:
"The fortune of the Dyson Perrins family was estimated at £700,000,000 in 1901.[Ref ] Following many charitable gifts and dispersals of property, the wealth of Charles William Dyson Perrins was valued for probate in 1957 at £817,807 16s. 4d.
