Talk:Celtiberian Wars

Not concise edit

Currently this article is quite difficult to read. As far as I can see, this is because:

  1. it contains too much detail
  2. it provides too much context
  3. it is often redundant
  4. it lacks structure

I am normally OK with 1 and 2, but wikipedia has independent articles for the First Celtiberian War and the Second Celtiberian War. The First Celtiberian War article is already a copy of the first part of this article. In the Second Celtiberian War article, the Numantine Wars are also explained (usually considered as the Third Celtiberian War). I suggest moving most of the detail and context to two or three independent articles, and keeping a shorter version here.

I think some work can be done to improve 3 and 4. The use of headers can help. I tried to improve the first part of the article by moving part of the material to two independent headers (Prelude and Sources) and by removing some details that appear later in the text, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. --Franciscojhh (talk) 22:29, 30 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

I added some headings and made minor changes to the text. I consider now that the text on the Second Celtiberian War is good (albeit too detailed). I think that the text on the First Celtiberian War (particularly the last part) is still confusing. --Franciscojhh (talk) 13:28, 1 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

I will now try to produce a shorter version of the current text, leaving the long version in the independent pages.--Franciscojhh (talk) 23:18, 2 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
