Enlightenment
editI'm inclined to think that the Enlightenment deserves a section on a par with the political revolutions and the Industrial Revolution. It preceded the French Revolution, and greatly influenced the American as well.--Piledhigheranddeeper (talk) 02:25, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, it's a good idea. It should be noted as well the differences between the Spanish and French enlightenment. Unlike the French, the Spanish one remained monarchist. This is needed to understand why, even among the emancipators themselves, there were many monarchists that supported the crowning of a local king or monarchical authority (such as Carlotism, the mission of Belgrano and Rivadavia to Europe, or the Inca plan) MBelgrano (talk) 15:54, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
Image of the French Revolution
editThe painting Liberty Leading the People commemorates the July Revolution of 1830 and not the French Revolution of 1789, of which the article speaks; it is thus inappropriate for the article.Elatanatari (talk) 03:15, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
- I have replaced it MBelgrano (talk) 15:38, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
