Removal of Most of My Listing edit

On March 6, 2013 someone removed most of my listing in Wikipedia with the comment that the subjects life does not justify a long entry. According to the history tab the person who removed the material is not an editor of Wikipedia and did not write on any other entry, if I read it correctly. I believe this action was a random arbitrary act without basis. Some justification for this belief follows.

The section removed related to the Helvie Energy Theory of Nursing and Health that was initially developed in the early 1970’s and published later in book form. It was refined over the next 20 years and applied to individuals, families, and communities. The final version published in book form in 1999 presented the theory and applied it to a specific community using the nursing process. The theory has been used in at least 8 countries including United States, Canada, Columbia, England, Germany, Ghana, South Africa, and Thailand in education, practice and research. In the United States in has been used for graduate students in such schools as U of Kansas, Kentucky and South Carolina, and service agences in Massachusetts and Minnesota. This can be documented and many were in the removed material. In addition, my picture, 12 of my published books and chapters under publications, and references were removed. .

In the past my life history justified listing in most of the major reference books and also warranted receiving the Distinguished Career in Public Health Award from the American Public Health Association in 1999 among others. Some national reference listings included Who’s Who in Virginia (1974), Who’s Who in the South and Southwest (1978-79 and 1980-81), Outstanding Educators in America (1975), American Men and Women of Science (1976) Who’s Who in American Nursing and 5 others.

I can also provide links to other living people whose life is far less notable and who have content continually added and have listings up to 14 and 15 times longer than mine but I prefer not to point the finger unless necessary. However, I believe a review of other living people in the health arena will bear this out and show random arbitrary cutting and adding to different people without any justification or rationale. I ask that you review my listing and provide feedback.

Perhaps if my listing had included my practice, research and writing with homeless populations and also with cancer patients wanting alternative treatments (a controversial topic)) over many years the person removing the data might have been more likely to leave it but I have no control over what was listed. However, I believe recent removal of the information that was placed on the site a year ago was arbitrary and random with no basis in reality.

Holistic Health Category Removal edit

I find it interesting that Holistic Health was removed as a category from my listing because I have been host of the Holistic Health Show on BBS Radio for over 5 years, one of my books published in 2007 was titled Healthy Holistic Aging; my most recent book published in 2012 uses a holistic approach to lung cancer treatment, and I have practiced holistic health in my professional and personal life for over 35 years. This information could have been validated by a google search, a review of my google scholars citation page, a review of my Holistic Health Show website, or the BBS Radio website. Carl O.
