Background

  • "The Comité Olímpico Cabo-verdeano" — I would clarify that this is the NOC for Cape Verde. Also, worth a red link in the infobox?
    Translated. Courcelles (talk) 19:05, 10 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • "Cape Verde has never won an Olympic medal" — As of when?
  • "the island nation has never participated at a Winter Olympic Games." — Again, as of when? I'm assuming 2018 for both, but should be clarified.
    Right on both, added.
  • Any word on the closing ceremony flag bearer?
  • Not in the Official Report (I'm getting the impression unless the IOC releases it in a press release, no one really gives a damn about the closing flagbearers in the media!) Courcelles (talk) 19:05, 10 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Athletics

  • "her second Olympic appearance" — And last?
  • How many competitors in the women's 100 meters? How was it determined who would advance?
  • I'm a bit confused by the current state of the medals. Did they move bronze up to silver (thus two silver medalists) and fourth to bronze, but decide to leave gold vacant? Suggest stating first how the medals were awarded (including Jones's gold), and then explaining how they have been reallocated since.
    • The original medal order was Jones, Thanou, and Lawrence for bronze. They advanced Lawrence and Ottley one medal each, but chose not to advance Thanou because she had her own drug problems in the 2004 Olympics... let me see what I can do to clarify things. Looks good, Courcelles, minor comments above. --Usernameunique (talk) 18:53, 10 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • Thanks, let me know what you think of the medals issues now. Courcelles (talk) 19:05, 10 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • "had her own issue with drug testing" is a bit euphemistic, can you clarify? --Usernameunique (talk) 19:38, 10 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • She kind of possibly maybe faked a motorcycle accident to avoid a drug test? (Two trials have been held, one saying she was guilty of perjury, one saying not) I've just said "missing" a drug test because the whole story would take another paragraph to explain and we'd be in left field for this article, but you can read all about it at this article.
