edit"while the poses of both the Madonna and child acted as a prototype for works by, amongst others major artists such as Robert Campin, Jan van Eyck,..." - better make clear that both of these two were dead before the work was displayed at Cambrai. Johnbod (talk) 13:11, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
- Yes. We make a similar claim in the Berlin article, and the influence is clear on JvE's fountain Madonna, which is where David indirectly becomes relevant here. I havnt figured out yet how Jan became aware. I think its explained in Harbison's book but I dont have that one. I'm not sure how to couch here, suggestions? Ceoil (talk) 15:54, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
- Great. Do you have the Parshell article? Its very good on the different Madonna types, though ostensibly about Fra Filippo's work. Ceoil (talk) 16:10, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
