Uses edit

Cadmium sulfide is used as:

- pigment

- light detector in light dependent resistors

- solar cell material (research level, not production)

- Why cadmium sulfide is yellow?' —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.160.167.82 (talk) 06:02, 26 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

the cause of the colour is covered in the aricle- its due to the small band gap- low band gaps <3 ish lead to coloured compounds- those with high band gap like diamond are not coloured.Axiosaurus (talk) 10:36, 26 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

More should have been said about toxicity. It is hihly dangerous. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.229.112.98 (talk) 22:34, 9 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

I agree with the toxicity data being rather short in this article. I'll see if I can find some things. Meanwhile, the chemical equations in the section on the production of CdS from thiourea don't balance. Can the author please revise them? Vatassery (talk) 02:14, 10 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
