Pib
edit- Whence the pib in all these names? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.171.88.10 (talk) 18:59, 14 December 2011 (UTC)
- I'm guessing it has been "unofficially adopted" as the nonproprietary name (INN) stem for CETP inhibitors, like -coxib for COX 1/2 inhibitors. I can't find it in the online version of the "stem book" [[1]], so I'm guessing that it's either not been formalized by whatever body updates the INN system.. Who makes changes in INN stem naming conventions "official" anyway?
- Updated versions of "stem book" are published by WHO: [[2]] but it looks like 2011 version doesn't have -cetrapib.Teaktl17 (talk) 05:02, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- -cetrapib is present on USAN stem list [3] approved by USAN Council.Teaktl17 (talk) 06:31, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
