Broadcast
editThe opening paragraph describes the broadcast in detail. Later on in the article, there's a separate section called "Broadcast" that discusses nothing but Australia. Either the Broadcast section should discuss the broadcast, or there should be a section for Australia if no other more suitable location can be found for that information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:80AB:60D0:C5F9:8483:6B45:9813 (talk) 17:48, 11 February 2016 (UTC)
Saturday Edition
editI'm a student commenting on this page for a class and I noticed that a whole paragraph in the Saturday Edition of this section had no citations. Right now, the section sounds like it is from original research and from personal observations. Sources should be added to this section to legitimize it. ← — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kwaddick (talk • contribs) 15:49, 9 September 2016 (UTC)
Reception
editAlso, under the reception section there is only one reviewers opinion mentioned. To give a more well-rounded depiction of how the show was received more information about what other critics thought of the show should be given. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kwaddick (talk • contribs) 15:59, 9 September 2016 (UTC)
Erica Hill and the infobox
editErica Hill briefly co-anchored the broadcast in 2012. The infobox for most of these broadcasts (like Today and GMA) lists only current personnel (which in this case are Charlie Rose, Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell), with former personnel listed separately within the article. Ms. Hill has been repeatedly removed from the infobox, and repeatedly re-inserted. If she's included, it makes it look like she's currently on the show, which is inaccurate. Yesterday, after she was added yet again, I inserted a parenthetical (2012) to indicate when she was on. This was removed, by the same editor who re-added her to the list, citing the template to state that "we do not list years" (although the adjoining entry has the years that different versions of the theme music were used).
So here are the options for the listing:
Rose, Hill, King, O'Donnell - inaccurately makes it look as though Hill is still on the show;
Rose, King, O'Donnell - another editor maintains that this makes the listing incomplete, and it should be a complete history of broadcast personnel;
Rose, Hill (2012), King, O'Donnell - "we do not list years".
This is really not worth edit warring over. How should it be handled? JTRH (talk) 12:41, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
- As I explained to you before, when you posted on my talk page prior, she has to be included. Per {{Infobox television}} it states: "Presenters are listed in original credit order followed by order in which new presenters joined the show. Years or seasons should not be included." Excluding Erica Hill would defy this and what MOS:TV calls for. As for the music, the template does not specify anything about years. Including years for presenters is fan-cruft and fluff, and Hill's exit can be addressed within the body of the article, which it is. People continue to ignore what the template calls for. I don't see how this is hard to understand. livelikemusic talk! 12:49, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
- And this appears to be an interpretation with which a number of other editors disagree. I'm not the only one who's removed her. I haven't gone through the history, but you appear to be the only one who's put her back. So should the Today Show infobox include everyone going back to Dave Garroway in 1952? JTRH (talk) 13:03, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
- Because people like to ignore what template(s) call for in exchange for their own preference, or they do not read edit summaries, while not including one of their own. And, again, as I previously explained to you on my talk page, prior, all presenters from The Today Show and Good Morning America were listed at one point. However, it was shorted to include the "(See full list)," due to the expansive list of co-hosts, something that CBS This Morning does not have, in retrospect to its counterparts. Not my fault I am following what the template calls for, and everyone else is ignoring it, which they normally always do. livelikemusic talk! 13:11, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
- I remember that you and I have discussed this before, but we're not the only people who've been involved in editing the page. I was interested in building a consensus rather than the back-and-forth that keeps going on with removing her name and re-adding her. Since the article incorporates the 1987-1999 program by the same name, should there be a "See Full List" incorporating everyone from Harry Smith and Kathleen Sullivan (the original anchors in 1987) to Erica Hill? Otherwise, there's an inconsistency between Today and GMA (only current presenters in the infobox) and this one. JTRH (talk) 14:26, 31 August 2017 (UTC)

- In technicality, all presenters should be listed, from both the original broadcast and the current incarnation. Plus, the list is not that expansive that all presenters couldn't be listed. There are other series, like American Idol and The X Factor (UK TV series) that have long lists of presenters/judges, etc. livelikemusic talk! 14:53, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
- I don't disagree that all presenters should be listed. The infobox for the GMA article lists current personnel, followed by "See full list", which links to the list in the body of the article which starts with David Hartman. Everyone's accounted for, but only current people are at the top of the page in the box. Shouldn't that be how it's done here? JTRH (talk) 15:05, 31 August 2017 (UTC)

- Again, as mentioned, that was done because Good Morning America has an expansive list, and it was ruled by majority consensus that it should be shortened. Unfortunately, this discussion is purely you and I, so therefore I don't believe there will be a majority/unanimous consensus, especially since I don't believe that CBS This Morning has an expansive enough of a list to be shortened. Just like I did not believe Good Morning America and Today should've been shortened. livelikemusic talk! 15:13, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
- I don't feel that strongly about it. I'm just trying to avoid an edit war. I hope more people notice this and weigh in. A cursory trip through edit summaries indicates that, in the last eight months, she's been removed from the infobox by at least three separate users and an IP. JTRH (talk) 15:29, 31 August 2017 (UTC)

- We will have to wait and see; until then, the infobox should stay as it is, as we are currently in the midst of a discussion, and WP:CONSENSUS calls for it. Unfortunately, I am off for the day. I've got to head into my work for my shift. I will check by in tomorrow to see if any other user has stumbled upon this discussion; hopefully they have! livelikemusic talk! 15:33, 31 August 2017 (UTC)
Charlie Rose
editCharlie Rose has been suspended, not fired. He should still be listed as a host of the program until CBS makes an official announcement that he's gone. JTRH (talk) 13:37, 21 November 2017 (UTC)
- And now he's been fired. Somebody still jumped the gun on this. JTRH (talk) 19:01, 21 November 2017 (UTC)
Gail
editPlease tell Gail to stop talking over people. It just makes everyone talk louder and gives me a brain pain 🤦🏼♀️ Example: when they were talking about the Choco Taco this morning. 2001:48F8:1008:58E:29D2:5F58:2476:9F54 (talk) 12:50, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
Music
editCan someone tell the name of the song clip played throughout the show, usually when pausing for weather or local updates? It is NOT the trumpet fanfare intro theme. This one sounds like it is from a old western. Thank you for any help you can give me. Lisa G 2600:1702:2790:7930:108B:56DC:63A6:65B2 (talk) 00:13, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
