John who?

edit

There appears to be an incomplete sentence relating to the school at Bwlchgwyn. Another famous author to attend school in Bwlchgwyn is John. Surname please, and an indication of his importance, anyone?Cloptonson (talk) 21:30, 30 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Highest village claim

edit

Though perhaps the uninformed may make this claim, it doesn't stand up to any scrutiny and perhaps ought to be dropped from the article unless a source can be found that confirms the claim is often made - no matter how unfounded it may be. The competing claim for Garn-yr-erw (cited apparently from an OS children's quiz) doesn't stand up to scrutiny either as the same OS Explorer map clearly shows the village of Trevil some few miles to the west as being higher (lying above the 400m contour). cheers Geopersona (talk) 18:55, 7 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Use of 'Eisteddfod' word queried

edit

"It is known the Romans worked the shallow lead veins of the Eisteddfod, with the small fort possibly being a base for these operations."

This is part of an entirely uncited paragraph in the head of the 'History' section. As only the cultural festival comes up when Eisteddfod is googled in Wikipedia, I am wondering if this is a joke? (I live in England and only know Bwlchgwyn's vicinity as a passing through traveler.)Cloptonson (talk) 13:56, 31 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
