To party members who may wish to edit the article: please see WP:COI regarding conflict-of-interest concerning members of organizations editing articles about those organizations. Fair use rationale for Image:Bccp-logo.gif

Image:Bccp-logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. This article is confusingly written

Under the heading "Founding and early years", the first sentence is

The BC Conservatives, known colloquially as the Tories, were formed in 1900 when the Liberal-Conservative Party selected its first provincial leader, Charles Wilson.

There are three different party names mentioned ("BC Conservatives", "Tories", and "Liberal-Conservative Party"), but not the party name that is the title of this article ("Conservative Party of British Columbia"). This is totally unclear. The first 12 words of the sentence suggest that a party called "BC Conservatives" was formed in 1900, and at that time it was also called "the Tories". But then the sentence mentions the "Liberal-Conservative Party". Is it saying that this was a third name for the same party? Or is it saying that somehow the "BC Conservatives" were formed in 1900 to oppose the Liberal-Conservative Party's new leader? Mathew5000 (talk) 01:28, 29 June 2022 (UTC)

"Far Right" description in infobox and prose

Any statements referring to the post-2023 version of this party as far right have been reverted a few times now. I'm not saying that's the entire party but clearly it has a presence in the membership, candidates and board. Look at the definition of Far Right in use on Wikipedia: "Contemporary definitions now include neo-fascism, neo-Nazism, the Third Position, the alt-right, racial supremacism and other ideologies or organizations that feature aspects of authoritarian, ultra-nationalist, chauvinist, xenophobic, theocratic, racist, homophobic, transphobic, or reactionary views" This is not a Nazi party, but it contains elements on that list including affiliation with the alt-right and transphobia. Do we have any sources that claim this for party position? I see why it was removed the current source does not say this. Give it a few days see if we get sources if not we can just remove it again. Moxy🍁 22:05, 9 April 2024 (UTC)

We have plenty of sources that actually state that the party is on the centre-right, right, and are targeted towards voters with those beliefs.

Here's the CBC mentioning a "growing debate in B.C. over who stands for the right side on the political spectrum". Here's another CBC article which quotes a political science professor, Hamish Telford:

"If they don't gain more traction and become the dominant centre-right party or right party, they could end up just splitting the vote down the middle with B.C. United, handing an easy victory to the NDP," said Telford of the Conservatives.

Another source:

"As the federal Conservatives rise in popularity in the province, both Rustad and BC United leader Kevin Falcon are jockeying for right-of-centre support"

The definition of far-right on Wikipedia and your personal opinion of whether the party fits the criteria cannot justify an edit like this.
