Brett Beyer is an amazing world class coach and one of the best coaches I have worked with. Brett and I started working together in July 2005 when I based myself in Sydney where he trained and coached me both from his Laser and coach boat. At the time I was not a particularly outstanding Laser sailor and was ranked around 30th in the world. Brett isolated my weaknesses, and over a period of one year effectively addressed them culminating in 4th place finish at 2006 Laser world championship in what were previously my worst conditions. That year, I also won my first world cup medal and finished the year with a world ranking of #2 all thanks to Brett's help.

Brett's direct approach and work ethic is second to none. He is demanding of his sailors and often challenges their limits beyond what they thought they were capable of. His famous long sessions are perfect examples where he will train his athletes to exhaustion so that they learn to perform perfect technique even when their body is physically exhausted. This not only helps with skills retention, but teaches the sailor how to perform on their worst days. This is one example of his many techniques he uses to develop his sailors.

Brett's ability to communicate with his sailors is outstanding. He manages to take complex concepts and break them down into simple processes so that his sailor is able to apply them effectively while racing, which is probably one of his strongest attributes.Not only does he convey the information well, addressing the weakness, he provides examples of other sailors who do the skill well and uses video from his archives to reinforce the learning.As with anything Brett does, it is done with a purpose and in this case, shows his ability to make use of all the resources available. As a high performance athlete, I would not be where I am today without the help and guidance of Brett Beyer. He would be a valuable asset to any Olympic program and I highly recommend his services.(ML Canada)

Brett Beyer coached for the Singapore Sailing federation from mid-2003 to late 2010,He was employed primarily as the elite-Laser class coach,and also contributed in other capacities to High Performance Development in Singapore. During his tenure he was arguable the highest medal-and significant result-producing coach for the federation with highly significant results for Singapore, which is a developing sport nation, including;

• Qualification for the 2004 Olympics in the Laser Class

• Qualification for the 2008 Olympics in the Laser and Laser Radial classes

• 2009 Youth World Championship Laser Radial Gold Medal

• Development of 3 Laser 4.7 World Champions

• South East Asian Games: 2 Gold medals(Laser and Laser Radia

• Asian Games: 2Goldmedals,2 Silver medals and 1 bronze medal (Laser,Radials and 4.7)

Brett is highly regarded in international Laser sailing circles and he himself is a is a keen competitor with 7 Laser Master World Championship titles under his belt.

Coming from a Sport Science background he is a holistic coach who integrates all forms of sport, science and medicine into his training programs. He is extremely well versed in strength and conditioning for sailing and was responsible for the dramatic upgrade in physical performance of the often more slightly built Asian sailors.

Brett has spent many years on the international circuit and is familiar with venues and conditions of all the typical ISAF Grade 1 and Grade2 locations including Great Britain and Weymouth and also South American venues.

Brett is a coach of the highest integrity and is much respected by his sailors, colleagues and management. He is direct and able to quickly get to the heart of development issues, a must for any elite-level coach.

Brett has the heart for a sailor's development and I believe that his expertise and passion coupled with a sailor's drive,talent and physique can be an Olympic medal winning combination.

I thoroughly recommend Brett Beyer for any elite coaching position.
