Big mistake here. Captain Teague is merely the Keeper of the Code, not the Pirate King. It is clearly mentioned that there was no Pirate King since the 1st Brethren, which could have been many years before, since the only ones being mentioned in the events of that Brethren were Davy Jones and Tia Dalma, both not-aging characters. So, Elizabeth Swann Turner is the 2nd Pirate King Ever

Secondly, it was never stated clearly that Jones was a Pirate Lord, only that he helped the Brethren imprisioning Calypso.

Another thing, but it's merely speculation, is that Ragetti was the Pirate Lord of the Caspian Sea during Barbossa's death, since he was the keeper of Barbossa's Piece of Eight.

Article needs renaming now anyway, since the organisation is clearly called the Brethren Court. Gazza Innit 08:05, 25 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

More Detailed Summaries edit

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Brethren_of_the_Coast&oldid=132427187 The summaries that are on that article are probably more worthwhile than the summaries that are present, due to the fact that when I remade the page I just took these summaries from the list of minor characters. I'd suggest someone revise the old summaries with newer, more up-to-date information and replace the currents. Locke 10:25, 25 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

peices of eight edit

can someone explain what this is about i thought the peices of eight were silver coins signifying the pirate lords, but on barbossas article its says that ragettis wooden eye is barbossas piece.172.143.90.51 14:31, 25 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

It's explained in the movie, go look at the article on the Brethren Court. At the first Brethren Court, the Pirate Lords were broke so they used whatever they had. However, the Nine Pieces of Whatever They Had In Their Pockets didn't sound piratey enough.

What happened? edit

Who put the redirect on here? Can someone fix it back, The Worlds End wiki doesn't show what the BotC is.

Brethren Court edit

I'll remake the Article under the proper title and copy the content, new summaries and all.Locke 17:07, 25 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the 30 Year War edit

Upon reading the sources this does not make sense. The thirty years war took place from 1618-1648. However Jamaica was not even taken by the english until 1655. [1] Tortuga itself wasn't settled by the "cattle" herders until 1630. [2] It also seems unlikely they (those that lived in Tortuga) at the beginning engaged in piracy since they didn't even really have time to organize since "the populace frequently sought refuge...by fleeing to hills of Hispaniola". [2]. In fact the Golden Age of Piracy doesn't even start til 1650. So I do not understand the "during their hayday" statement. It has no in-text citations and upon reading the sources cited they don't mention the 30 Years War at all. I deleted it but just wanted to justify my reasoning. I don't deny that letters of marque but the 30 years war statement makes no sense.
