Picture

How do I add a picture to Wikipedia's Brendon Urie article? Sorry, I'm new.

The picture is cute, but did you follow the rules? like it is a free image? 24.74.141.22 21:25, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

I really have no idea. Somebody removed it, I don't know why they did, but it could be because it didn't follow the rules (whatever those may be). I'll try to put it back up and see what happens from there.

Brendon Urie is also 20 now and there was tons and tons of fans who gave him presents such as (art work and just a lot of stuff they made for him) he had a freakin sweet b/day and he said, "cant wait til my next its going to be even more exciting! WEEEEEEEE, so if you have any more stuff to add write bak. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.157.110.11 (talk) 20:56, 27 October 2007 (UTC) Brendon is a very beautiful man —Preceding unsigned comment added by 168.254.225.139 (talk) 18:25, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

He loves cereal!! He eats that like all the time!!

People. this isn't a forum. does anyone have a picture of Brendon Urie that doesn't have copyrights on it? JazzlineB 21:02, 15 November 2007 (UTC) :)

I think it would be a good idea if the "Panic! at the Disco" section of his biography was merged with the Panic! at the Disco article. That section seems like it involves more than Urie; it's a matter of the whole band. JazzlineB (talk) 03:35, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

Clean Up Work

I have attempted to clean up article, but there are still two comments that I cannot find references for. I was considering using the Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons#Remove_unsourced_or_poorly_sourced_negative_material clause. Any thoughts? Hackajar 17:15, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

  • This article is currently going through the AfD process, I have added as much as I personally can to improve it's status. It apears, now, to conform to the WP:BAND standards. For two reason listed herin, AfD discussion & my clean-ups, the Standards banner on front page seems redundant at this point in time. Removing banner as AfD pretty much 'activly is addressing that issue. Hackajar 19:06, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

This page is a disaster. Actual people aren't shocked by the idea of having to work to support themselves or to pursue a goal - and they don't expect their mummy and daddy to support them. How about more about what drives him than whether or not he has a girlfriend - the way you people spell it's highly unlikely you can understand what the hell he's actually singing about in the first place. 64.140.179.102 04:18, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

I was reading this article, and I saw this: "the good Mormon girl we once knew". It was a quote from Ryan and it's supposed to be "the good Mormon boy we once knew". Sorry, if I'm not supposed to post here- I'm new. >__> And for some reason, I can't edit. Btw, tomorrow is his b-day! ^_^ Panicattfan 17:21, 11 April 2007 (CST)

I cleaned alot of the unnecessary input on how attractive he is or whether or not he has a girlfriend. I will also from now on be correcting spelling and deleting any more useless material, about once a week. Knight Whitefire 18:02, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Age Question

  • After much research, if this is in fact his MySpace [2][3] Then he IS Mormon, and DOB listed on main page is correct. Please complain further here if this is false!;) Hackajar 09:50, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
If those links do not work it's MySpace friend ID 77025524 (change in your addressbar manually)Hackajar 09:50, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

That's not Brendon's MySpace, he has even said in interviews he doesn't have one. His best friend Tom only has Panic! At the Disco the first in his top eight, which means he doesn't have one

Not necessarily. There's a thing called lying; if I were as well-known as Urie is I wouldn't want everyone on the face of the planet requesting to be my MySpace friend. Amphytrite 04:11, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

Mormon?

I've removed the "Latter-day Saint musicians" category until someone can provide citation. Does _________ currently self-identify as Mormon? Being from a Momron family is not enough. Neither is a MySpace page . -Porlob 19:00, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Brendon's age is cited here [4] in his IMDB page. This is maintained and verified by IMDB. It has been updated on the main page as well, and added to external links. Hackajar 15:47, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

Girlfriend?

Does he or does he not have a girlfriend? I have heard so many rumors about this and I still remain unsure. Can Anybody answer this? If yes please give a name. Thank you for your time.

Stange Comment

Should this comment: "Also at the VMAs many "fangirls" will be at a loss to know that Brendon Urie currently has a girlfriend, who he kisses softly right before going onstage for the Video Of The Year Award her name is briteny something but who really cares ."

Really be included?

...no it really shouldn't be there. Plus its crushing peoples dreams of going out with him. Lol. But it's probably just another crazy "fangirl" who put it up there anyway.

Girlfriend or not??

I haven't seen any really facts that Brendon in fact does have a girlfriend. The person that was with Brendon at the VAwards was not named or claimed as Brendon's girlfriend. Don't let us assume things if we don't have facts! Just be happy that they won the award which made Panic! at the disco very happy! but if i had a choice he would be mine!!!!!!!!!!

See other discussions, and please stay on topic! CattleGirl talk | e@ | review me! 08:08, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Ethnicity???

He has a japanese last name...but is he???

obviously he's not japanese... i mean, if he was, he'd look slightly oriental but he does not. so it's safe to say, no.

iknow

well yeah, but do his parents look like? (link anyone??) and his one sisters name is sonja, what kind of ethnict name is sonja (that was not meant rudely, any sonjas reading this do not take offense to this) just if anyone does know what sonja is let me know -erin

But isn't Urie a german/hebrew name? There is many people from Germany and The Netherlands who have the name Urie.//ToxXxiC

The surname Urie is of Scottish orign.

Aren't most YouTube videos without copyright? If they do have copyright links, please, remove them, but the links in this article really helped me with some research, because I couldn't find the video on my own. CattleGirl talk | e@ | review me! 04:06, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
However, I suppose they aren't really trusted sources. Perhaps the information in the videos can be put into the article? CattleGirl talk | e@ | review me! 04:26, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
Both links to YouTube were taken with personal camcorders, not professional footage (I.E. a news story or from a show). They do not violate copyright per WP:COPYRIGHT because 1.) They are not uploaded to Wikipedia directly 2.) They are not "embedded" onto Wikipedia. Lastly, they are in "External Links" section NOT references section, therefore do not fail WP:OR policy. Further, even if they were held upto research quality, how is live video footage, unedited, not "Truth" in any matter?Hackajar 05:16, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Wikiproject Proposal

I've proposed a Panic! at the Disco Wikiproject here, to see how many people would be interested before starting one. The project would be an effort by a group of Wikipedians to build and improve all Panic! at the Disco pages (including members of the band, songs and albums). If you think that you'd be reguarly editing these pages, please put your name down at this page so we can see who would be interested in the project. Brendon's Dating Life {With Audrey Kitching}

Please, please, please STOP removing the "Personal Life" section. Brendon DID date Audrey Kitching, so stop removing it and calling it vandalism. Leave it there. Brendon and Audrey were RUMORED to be engaged FALSELY, and have since broken up. This is all true, and is the only publicly confirmed information about Brendon's relationships.

Stop removing it and deeming it as vandalism because it is true. Thank you. Also, don't post things about him being a virgin, being bisexual, or dating Jadie, Brittany, etc. Audrey is the only confirmed relationship he has publicly noted.

Thanks you guys. Just leave it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jadelovemusic1 (talkcontribs) 19:20, 12 March 2007 (UTC).

if you dont have a source than it will be removed and honestly, why does it fricken matter? only his crazy teenybopper finds knew about this. PrincessOfHearts 23:32, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Honestly, I don't know why we all have to be so rude. Brendon's relationship with Audrey was public. He is SINGLE now. I'll find a source, and if I can't, I leave it alone. Sorry for upsetting you all. Jeez. PrincessOfHearts don't even call me a teenybopper, because you probably are one anyway. Jadelovemusic1 10:15, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Hahaha, ok, it seems that you are the teenie to me. I didn't even know Brendon Urie dated whoever until you kept continuosly adding that information in his article, that is why i though it was vanadalism. I've come to this article a couple of times and it said different crap about dating different people. So here is what you need to do calm down about the whole thing because it isn't a big deal. kthnxbye! PrincessOfHearts 20:10, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

In case you didnt notice it said LOCAL smoothie hut. Not the offical Smoothie Hut.

Then what is the LOCAL smoothie hut? it's not called smoothie hut? then why is it called the Local Smoothie Hut? just wondering....

Well, there's this interview with the whole band on youtube, and a fan asked them where they used to work. brendon said he used to work at "a smoothie hut." so it was probably just a local place. [oh, and i saw a place called Smoothie Hut in VA....] P!@tD Girly! 02:47, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Yeah. i saw the interview. okay. but i guess it's more like smoothie store or shop or whatever. it's not really a hut that's more of just a general term i guess...

A minor point, but Brendon worked at Smoothie Hut. I know because I owned the joint. Brendon, incidentally, was one of my best employees great attitude and work ethic. He was constantly singing at work, and he had a broad appreciation for all kinds of music, including dinosaur rock from my era.

There are a few things that I think should be included under Brendon's pesonal life. One, being that he's the youngest of five and has two older brothers and two older sisters. Two, being that be shares an apartment with Shane Valdez and that they have a dog named Dylan. I think these should be included because on Jon's page it mentions both his brothers and pets. AylaRanzz (talk) 08:20, 17 June 2008 (UTC) AylaRanzz

Actually, Brendon is the youngest of 5, three older boys and an older sister named Kara. (He confirmed this in many interviews) He used to date Audrey Kitching, he used o be a vegeterian, and YES he IS single. (i think, i hope) There should be alot of facts in his Personal Life section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.83.21.51 (talk) 05:42, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

This is what his personal life should say:

"Lead frontman of the popular band Panic! At the Disco. Brendon Urie was born in Summerlin, Las Vegas on April 12, 1987 and is the youngest of five children. He was raised Mormon, however, growing up he felt distant from his religion. Lead guitarist Ryan Ross says, "[...]He's no longer the good mormon boy we once knew."

In school Brendon Urie was overhyper and very outgoing, leading to a diagnosis of ADHD at the age of 12. When he chose to pursue his dreams in forming Panic! At the Disco, his parents kicked him out of their house and he was forced to pay for both his apartment and the band rental space on the wages he made from his job at a Smoothie Shack." Brendon doesn't have ADHD. He's just hyper and drinks alot of Red Bull. It's his favourite drink. AmieUrie 11:25, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

AmieUrie, it turns out he does :). After some research i learned that in a Rolling Stone interview, he said that he does have ADHD. Plus, even though it is a small case like PrincessOfHearts pointed out, red bull would be a tiny bit hard to explain how energetic he is. So, now that we know he has it, should we add it on? -Amvonz

as it's debated whethed ADD/ADHD even exists i don't see the need to put it in the article. also, i'd like to see the article where brendon says he has ADHD. and amvonz, red bull is an energy drink. he's not always energetic anyway. he justs fidgets a lot. i do that & i don't have ADHD.

Firstly, ADD and ADHD are not the same thing. ADD is one of three subtypes of ADHD.
Secondly, there is no debate on whether or not ADHD exists. ADHD is a neurological disorder caused by a chemical imbalence in the brain, among other things.
Next time, why don't you try reading up on things before you blab about needlessly.
To stay on topic, it has been confirmed that he has ADHD. Mako Addicted (talk) 07:59, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

His Own Song

I would like to bring attention to something that I found out today on another website and it's that Brendon Urie has his very own song called First Try and it was made when he was younger, I have checked the lyrics on the website and I have searched the various website links that link to a recording of the song and they all have Brendon Urie's voice in them, in fact I also downloaded the song. Bisexual?

He's alluded to being bisexual in a recent NPR interview and has plainly stated in a recent PrideSource interview that he is bisexual. The question I have is that he definitely describes being attracted to both men and women, but phrases it as being a "straight dabbler," because he is more attracted to women and is married to a woman (whom, if it's at all relevant, he also states as being bisexual). My question is that even though what he's described is bisexuality, can/should someone put under personal life being bisexual despite him having not explicitly said "I am bisexual"?

I would have just put the information myself, but there's a lock on editing the page so I can't add it. Personally, I think what he's said can be reasonably and reliably taken as a coming out, and is certainly relevant to him as a person despite being married to a woman. Brendon is Native Hawaiian - sources?

So I've read on some forums that Brendon is half Native Hawaiian (on his mom's side apparently?) which would explain why he's in the categories of Native Hawaiian people and Native Hawaiian musicians. I've also heard that he got a tattoo of Hawaiian flowers as a way of remembering his heritage. However, I haven't been able to find any Wikipedia-worthy reliable sources for this info. If anyone knows where we can find some, that might be good to add to the page - maybe under the Personal Life section or something. 75.82.52.140 (talk) 07:32, 13 September 2014 (UTC)

I've learned that his maternal grandmother is of Portuguese and native Hawaiian ancestry. But I'm unable to make that improvement in the article.

Birth place

Birthplace is St. George, Utah, as reported by Brendon Urie on Periscope. Also on Twitter [5].

try to work the trivia items into the prose of the article....Also, good job in finding refs, though the ref tags should go after any punctuation, not before. Also try to put the full reference for your citations (see WP:CITE or {{cite web}} for more info) at the very least it should have title, url, publisher (author of article if known) and date you accessed it. plange 04:18, 23 August 2006 (UTC) Has a picture, infobox, and organized info, so it can be B-class. Vocal Range

I am a huge fan of Panic! At The Disco, so I can't help but point out that no one even bothered to put Brendon's amazing vocal range there. I am a new user, so please help me out. I did some research and noted that Brendon is a Lyric Tenor, and his vocal range is 4 octaves and 7 notes, (D2-C6/C7).[1] I am not used to editing pages here before so please, someone edit it and put it there. This page states Brendon Urie is a leggero tenor, which he definitely isn't. Leggero tenors have voices that are naturally much higher, lighter and brighter than his: people like Geddy Lee and Kellin Quinn. Brendon Urie obviously has a darker and lower voice, he just has excellent control over it and can sing in all kinds of ranges. I'm gonna go ahead and edit that --89.39.73.96 (talk) 00:28, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

Never mind, I can't. But someone really should. It's a huge falsehood that he is a leggero tenor. The Wikipedia page for Leggiero tenor (the italian word "leggero" misspelled...) itself contradicts that --89.39.73.96 (talk) 00:30, 12 July 2017 (UTC)

I agree! He really should have a lot more credit for his voice. He's been voted best male voice in various categories and situations (none that I can cite off the top of my head) and he hasn't had a lot of training! He's had a few voice coaches but he's always been a very musical person and I think he was born with a passion for all sorts of creativity. He mostly taught himself how to sing! I believe it's quite incredible. Helenalovesbeebo (talk) 23:13, 14 October 2017 (UTC)

If we can find a source for his vocal type then that would be great. If he does not have a Leggiero tenor vocal type, what type does he have? If you have a source I would be happy to add it for you. I may search for one myself. Bowling is life (talk) 23:18, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
