Septuagint is pre-Christian
editThe Book of Odes is found in Orthodox Bibles, but is not in the Septuagint, since that is pre-Christian, and the Odes contain Christian hymns from the New Testament. And refering to "the Septuagint manuscript" is misleading. I need to do a little checking up before I want to change anything. Anybody else want to change it before I get back, feel free to do so. --Sean Lotz 00:22, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
- Odes (΄Ωδαὶ) is found in Alfred Rahlfs Septuagint, section 2, page 164, after Psalms.64.149.82.79 21:13, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
What about other forms of Odes e.g. Syriac Odes, Slavonic Odes, Greek Odes? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.206.229.202 (talk) 02:06, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
Odes are not part of the EO canon of the Bible
editI am Eastern Orthodox and although the Odes can be used in services, they are not part of the "canon" of Scripture in the EO Church. Rakovsky (talk) 23:19, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
