Improvements were made on 10/3/06 to provide reasons for notability: List of publication and newspaper reviews, List of Exhibitions, List of published art work in the U.S. B.P

Also, biased statements where made unbiased as noted by a 3rd party. B.P

Needs references

As per Wikipedia:Notability (people), an article about a Creative professional needs to reference published, third-party sources about the subject backing up one of one of the following criteria that pertains to artists:

• The person's work either:
• (a) has been displayed in a significant exhibition or as a monument (current article fails)
• (b) has won significant critical attention (current article fails)
• (c) is represented within the permanent collection of a significant gallery or museum of more than local significance. (current article fails)

b) Artist has received significant critical attention. However, online versions of the news paper articles either never existed OR can no longer be found since they are over 3 years old. Therefore links to on-line versions of article can not be included. (Any suggestions?)

I have re-added the "notability" tag because (a) and (b) have not been addressed. Please read the tag and understand Wikipedia policies re: notability.

• (a)-Commercial art exhibitions are not "significant exhibitions". "a significant exhibition" is an exhibit such as the Biennale, not a commercial gallery or Art Expo exhibit (the later simple implies the artist had money or backing to be in it... not "notability").
• (b)-"significant critical attention" needs to come from well know art reviewers/critics/historians. Newspaper articles may only prove that the artists in question exists and is issuing press releases. That is not "notability". You could quote or paraphrase (with citations) any sources (such as newspaper articles) that meet these requirements.

This artist may not belong in Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not Askart.com - it does not keep a full directory of all artist... just notable ones. Fountains of Bryn Mawr 00:11, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

In response to above "notability" concerns:

I have erased the content of the article while I research the content of the NewsPaper articles. A few of the newspaper articles have been written by well know art critics. Hard copies of articles will be obtained and citations will be added.

Undid page blanking. Blank pages do not belong in Wikipedia (WP:BLANK). Wikipedia pages are a collaborative effort. This page was put up by (another editor?) and should be left to be edited or tagged for deletion, but not BLANKED. If the page does not meet Wikipedia criteria then it should go through WP:SPEEDY. The National Publications section has been cleaned up and now consists of only the following:

1) Art World News - May 2004 article by Sarah Seamark (senior editor, Art World News)

2) Art Business News - April 2002 article by Audrey S. Chapman

3) The Artist's Magazine - July 1998 article by Debbie Hagan

4) Newark Star Ledger - Friday, October 27, 1995 review of one man exhibition by Eileen Watkins (art critic, Newark Star Ledger)

Regarding article #1: "Art World News" is a national art industry publication and a full page article on the artist was written & published by it's senior editor Sarah Seamark (www.artworldnews.com)

Regarding article #2: "Art Business News" is a national art publication. Please see the links below in regards to the authors of the article:

Regaring article #4: "Newark Star Ledger" is New Jersey's leading newspaper with circulation of over 300,000. Eileen Watkins, its noted art critic did a review of a one man exhibition by the artist which was published in the Newspaper.

Therefore the "Needs References" requiement as per Wikipedia's notability requirements has been satisfied since at least one article (article #4) about the creative professional has referenced, published, third-party sources about the artist backing up the criteria that pertains to artists:

The person's work either has won significant critical attention

Question for Administrator: Please adive if copy of the texts of the articles need to be included - or if links to the article will suffice

I have re-instated the NOTABILITY tag since we are still borderline here as to whether this artist meets Wikipedia's requirements re:notability. The citations you have above may pass muster but they are not immediately varifiable by me and other editors (although this may not be a requirement). A more basic problem is this article contains no statement as to why this person/place/thing is notable/encyclopedic. In my view you can accomplish this by expanding the main body of the article with paraphrases of what you found with citations:

"Art World News' senior editor Sarah Seamark, in an article about contemporary American impressionists, cited Bob Pejman is one of the most notable artist in that field" . Debbie Haganin in an article in "The Artist's Magazine" stated that Bob Pejman is......

Above style of citing should work fine as long as what is cited does match Notability requirements. In addition you may want to quote the relevant material here in talk. Fountains of Bryn Mawr 16:16, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
