Doesn't he wear #8, not #7 like Vick? I think the beta version had it as "#7 Ron Mexico" but the released version it's "#8 Mike Mexico"

I removed the Donny Mac reference and stuck in the Vick one yesterday mainly cause of the rushing stats of the player. Pruning

I removed the "past teams" and "endzone celebrations" sections. Both seemed to me to be at best fancruft, at worst (especially in the case of the "Past Teams") copyright infringement. Thunderbunny 23:05, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Wii Version

I can't seem to find any 'official' information about the Wii version. It was mentioned some time ago by Midway, but in the latest press releases about the 360 and PSP versions, it is not mentioned. For that reason, I have removed it from the article. Gilius 19:27, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

IGN have an article from the end of September in which they talk with Midway, and the game is still in development, it is simply no longer a launch title. As such, I will update the article to reflect this. — Aielyn 11:14, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

That article also mentions Midway 'bringing an already-released GCN upgrade to Wii' (fourth paragraph, directly below the screenshot). Where did they get that from? "Trivia"

I don't know who wrote most of the so-called "trivia" on this page, but whoever did needs to give his head a shake. First of all, Deacon Taylor of the Vegas Aces dropping dead on the field COULD NOT POSSIBLY have less to do with Chucky Mullins' injury in 1989. Taylor's death was due to steroid abuse, and Mullins - who actually was the one who hit Brad Gaines, NOT the other way around - did not "break his collar bone", he broke his neck and fractured his spine. The hit itself did not contribute to his death nineteen months after the injury; the resulting quadriplegia did. And to simply say things like "Ezekiel Freeman is a spoof of John Lynch"... first of all, to spoof something is to make fun of it. There's very little direct spoofing in Blitz that I can recall. There are references. Secondly, there's no evidence indicating any connection between Lynch and Freeman, for example, so how can you, whoever you are, just come out and say that! The "Trivia" guy above makes a good point; anything in this article along the lines of "X player/event in Blitz: The League is obviously inspired by Y player/event in real life" is Original Research, unless it's such an absolute slam dunk as to be beyond the shadow of a doubt. Examples of this include "Mike Mexico = Michael Vick" (in a prerelease version of the game, the player was actually called Ron Mexico) and "Quentin Sands = Lawrence Taylor" (the second is a voice actor for the first). So, please, no more "Ezekiel Freeman is John Lynch! They're both white safeties!". Thunderbunny 05:17, 7 November 2006 (UTC) Man please "Ezekiel Freeman" is the best player in that game to my eyes! More Trivia

In one of the "League History" moments, it is indicated that the owner of the LA Lightning who moves the team to Arizona to become the Outlaws is "Hal Davison". While I certainly see the resemblance to the Indianapolis-Baltimore Colts story, to me this is a reference to Al Davis, owner of the Los Angeles-Oakland Raiders. Since the Raiders have, historically, been the NFL's bad boys, the "Outlaw" name is the crown jewel. I suppose, though, that Baltimore football fans view the Indianapolis Colts as outlaws in their own right, so I could very well be wrong. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.85.9.74 (talk) 18:12, 18 January 2007 (UTC).

I deleted that item. Major pro sports teams in the U.S. threaten to up and leave very frequently. As stated above, the surest way for this page to become a trainwreck is by people coming on and posting "X is an obvious reference to Y" when X is not an obvious reference to Y. The Sacramento to San Diego move is like that of Baltimore to Indianapolis as they both include seeking the team out at midnight on moving trucks. Other than that, the LA to Arizona move parties every relocation the NFL, or other leagues for that matter, has done in the last 30 to 50 years. Kanga-Kucha
