Change to 'Blandford Garrison'

According to the refs I have (see end part), I've noticed Blandford is a Garrison consisting of Blandford Camp as a sub-'location'. Refs: Blandford Garrison facebook (see posts for conformation), Garrison picture, Garrison Sgt Maj return, Graham & Watson's book on the Royal Corps of Signals page 284 (showing both garrison and camp), Forces News report on Christmas at the garrison. So that's my recommendation. I'll tag two of you for a discussion so we don't have the issue like Bulford @SmartyPants22 and @Dormskirk J-Man11 (talk) 01:02, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

That is definitely not accurate. Lulworth ranges are part of Bovington Garrison, not Blandford. - SɱαɾƚყPαɳƚʂ22 (Ⓣⓐⓛⓚ) 10:49, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

The first reference talks about Garrison Sergeant Majors: it could be that the Garrison Sergeant Major is serving a larger garrison area. The second one cannot accessed. The third one is from Facebook which is not a reliable source. The fourth one confusingly refers to both Blandford Garrison and Blandford Camp. Dormskirk (talk) 14:11, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

@Dormskirk 2nd ref, and Blandford Camp is part of the Garrison, which is confusing yes. In the same sense that most garrisons consist of several barracks. J-Man11 (talk) 16:19, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

@J-Man11: This refers to Blandford Camp as being within Blandford Garrison. If we can find out what other installations make up the garrison, then we can add it to List of British Army Garrisons, however this page should remain as Blandford Camp, as it is in regards to the one singular camp. If you see the RCS' Wire for Spring 2021, and I quote "a group of ghouls, clowns and monsters descended onto the Craddock Training Area, Blandford Camp. They waited there for their victims, the families of Blandford Garrison.". Therefore it seems the garrison consists of both the Camp and training area, along with other training areas possibly. Looking for further refs in this area.. J-Man11 (talk) 23:23, 1 April 2021 (UTC)

Update needed (subsection Royal Signals)

The sub-section Royal Signals ends in 2009 with the then mooted move of the School of Signals to MOD St Athan which I gather has not materialised. In the next section the present school of Defence Communications etc is given as currently located, with a citation dated to 2019. The narrative in the preceding section therefore needs an update to let the general reader know clearly what became of the St Athan scheme.Cloptonson (talk) 12:49, 29 August 2021 (UTC)

Racing circuit

The claim that Blandford was “the UK's first post-war road racing circuit” seems dubious at best, given that Gransden Lodge had hosted racing more than two years earlier. Mr Larrington (talk) 19:17, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
