This outbreak is talked about in espisode "Curse of the Oxford Gaol" from the show Meet the Ancestors. The bookseller mentioned in thsi article was supposed to have cursed the court on being found guilty of treason against the English Crown. Soon after everyone involved in that trial started to die. The lice from the prisoners that were infected with the typus bacterium was tranfered onto the judges and other high ranking officals in the court. All this was found out when digging for an underground parking garage right next to Oxford Jail uncovered a mass grave. Just thought was interesting, that's all.
