Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

You can help find more. --Hm2k (talk) 10:01, 21 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Added other protocols supported in newer bitlbee versions edit

I added a quick note about twitter, facebook chat, ggoogle talk, identi.ca and status.net support. Also, added a note about support for libpurple library in development branches. Plus, linked "official bitlbee wiki" from 'External Links' section. Also, moved reference to "IRC hacks" book to "further reading section". Fine now? Assessing a source reliable edit

  • Belperchinov-Shabanski, Vladi (31 January 2004). "BitlBee: IRC vs. Instant Messengers". Freshmeat.

In addition to the above, Vladi has written two articles on perl.com [1] [2], has been cited twice [3] [4], and seems to have been a busy developer [5]. WP:RS says these aren't enough. But that blocks the goal of building an encyclopedia, so, per WP:IAR, I say Vladi has expertise in software, and since freshmeat might have editors and an editorial policy, the above article is reliable enough to cite. --Lexein (talk) 16:41, 31 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
