Accepted name edit

The article states the accepted name to be Polygonum affine. Thus the taxobox should reflect this - I will fix it, and I consider it to be uncontroversial. Furthermore, we should consider whether the article should be moved. The issue here is, Persicaria affinis is apparently a much more "common" scientific name (273K vs 65K google hits). The guidelines in WP:FLORA tells us to use scientific names in almost all cases. As I said at WP:FLORA, we should use the accepted name, rather than any synonyms that happen to get more Google hits. From some brief consultation with taxonomic sources, I'm not seeing any support for Persicaria affinis as the current accepted name. However, usage seems mixed for Polygonum affine versus Bistorta affinis.Plantdrew (talk) 19:24, 3 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
